Since 1992, France’s Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation has organized an annual Science Festival in collaboration with science and education stakeholders from across the country. This science outreach event promotes science and technology to the general public, with the aim of fostering and strengthening connections between citizens and the world of science.
To coincide with this event, GIANT and its local science partners have organized the ‘Parvis des Sciences‘ every year since 2007: the only science village in Grenoble. It is based at the Maison MINATEC and is free and open to all.
Each year, the ‘Parvis des Sciences’ hosts around forty stands and organizes interactive activities around a variety of topics. Researchers, engineers, students, and technicians explain their role to the public, share their passion, and carry out exciting live experiments.
The event is a unique opportunity to learn about the work of Grenoble’s major sci-tech research institutes. This enjoyable and informative few days event is all about sharing science knowledge and making connections. The first four days are reserved for schools, while the Saturday, is open to the public.
“The ‘Parvis des Sciences’ is a must-see event for anyone who’s curious or passionate about science. There’s something for all ages and it provides an overview of the sci-tech research being carried out in Grenoble in the fields of health, biology, energy, applied mathematics, and new technologies.”
